The Long White Cloud

Made from Himalayan cedar  (Cedrus deodara) this sculptural coffee table pays homage to the timber’s native landscape,
by portraying a long white cloud obscuring the top of a Himalayan mountain.
An accent of Jarrah and Camphor Laurel marquetry surround the wedged through tenon, both above and on the underside, and portray a migratory bird soaring over the peak.

This Himalayan cedar originally lived as a tree locally in Petersham, and thankfully the timber was saved from being mulched as part of an inner-west council initiative.

The Jarrah is from a reclaimed source, reclaimed by Studio Selah.

The Camphor Laurel is an invasive species in NSW and south-east Queensland.

Finished in natural oil and beeswax
